Bushmills

The oldest distillery in the world, founded in 1608. In 1784 a pot still became its registered trade mark. 

In 1885 a disastrous fire destroyed the Old Bushmills distillery. After pulling together they were soon rebuilt and back in production. During WWII production stopped but after the war production was booming, exports rocketed. In 2008 Bushmills celebrated their 400 years. The old Bushmills distillery was put on the new bank notes from the Bank of Ireland.
